Street Vendor Control on Jalan Pluit Permai Went Chaotic

The demolishment against dozens of street vendors' kiosks on Jalan Pluit Permai and Jalan Taman Pluit Permai, Pluit, Penjaringan, went chaotic.

We could not act recklessly without giving the solution. Pluit Village's side agreed to give trading place for the vendors

The chaos began when the demolition will take place; some people using party attributes tried to block 300 Satpol PP officers to curb the kiosks. As a result, the argument and pushing action were inevitable in this demolition process.

Penjaringan Sub-district Head, Yani Wahyu Purwoko said, the curb is already planned since the JU 34 ex-location permit is no longer renewed since 2010 ago. But, the curb can only be done after the location for the vendors' relocation available.

"We could not act recklessly without giving the solution. Pluit Village's side agreed to give trading place for the vendors," said Purwoko, Monday (3/2).

Purwoko added, his side had socialized and planned to relocate the vendors to Pluit Village on upcoming Wednesday (3/4). Moreover, North Jakarta Small and Medium Enterprises Cooperatives (KUMKMP) Sub-department will also give cart for the vendors.

"After the permanent kiosk has been prepared, they can occupy it immediately. And for today, all food that cooked by them will be bought for us to eat together," he said.
